In 2008 the Department of Environment, Heritage and Local Government was looking for a memorable campaign to promote the closing date for the Electoral Register.  Winning the tender against stiff competition from ten other agencies, First created a fun cartoon character called Freddie who featured in all print, audio and online advertising. To support the advertising campaign, the agency also designed, printed and dispatched 10,000 informational posters to every TD and Senator in the country, all libraries, educational institutions and any other relevant bodies, delivering a highly successful campaign within extremely tight time parameters.
