Tote Ireland step up to the Plate with First Adverting
First advertising have developed new creative to promote betting with thetote.com during the Galway races. Galway is the biggest betting week of the year and the Tote are sponsoring the iconic Galway Plate for the first time.
′Sponsoring Plate Day next Wednesday reflects the international side of the business and gives us a higher profile in that market,′ said Dryden Geary , marketing manager of Tote Ireland.
′From a situation some years ago when we started to facilitate punters in Britain betting into the Irish pools, we′ve now got French, South African, German and Dutch customers now betting on Irish racing.′
To raise awareness of this, the tote have a page takeover on the racingpost.com website. The campaign runs across a range of targeted sites and includes Leaderboards, Skyscrapers & video ads promoting the jackpot (which is guaranteed for €50,000 during the first 5 days of the festival , to win just pick the winner of the 3rd,4th,5th & 6th races).
In 2009 almost €6million was wagered on Galway with the Tote during the week. Early indications from the first few days are encouraging with Tote turnover up a healthy 20% on Tuesday.
