2fm did not perform as well. Ryan Tubridy switched stations to fill the gap left by Gerry Ryan's departure, as his show runs for 2 hours a direct comparison is difficult but looking at the average quarter hour figures from 9am-11am there has been a fall of 38,000 in the last quarter.19,000 of these were housekeepers with kids, with whom Gerry Ryan was particularly popular. The next 6 months will give a clearer picture as new shows can take some time to bed in.On Today FM Ray D'Arcy continues to be the star performer with 219,000 listeners daily (3,000 more than Tubridy).
In Dublin, FM104 with a 20% daily reach is top of the local stations while the rock commuter station Radio Nova recorded an impressive 53,000 daily and 120,000 weekly listeners since it's September launch (It has the advantage of measuring listeners in parts of Wicklow, Kildare & Meath as well as Dublin). Cork 96/103 reach 46% across the county.Among the regional stations, Highland continue their strong showing , capturing 67pc of local listeners, followed by Shannonside at 53pc, and Radio Kerry at 51pc.
