Abbey Travel Facebook Competition

Facebook has become increasingly popular with companies which is no surprise given the global reach (over 500 million active users - of which half log in daily).
More than two million websites have integrated with Facebook, including over 80 of comScore's U.S. top 100 websites and over half of comScore's Global Top 100 websites (Facebook Jan 2011).
Facebook users are interacting more with brands on the site.
Over two in five surveyed Facebook users (43%) say they "like," or are fans of, at least one brand on Facebook. The reasons are : 40% say they like brands to receive discounts and promotions, while 39% say they do so to publicly display their brand affiliations to others. In contrast, almost a quarter (23%) of people, who follow brands on Twitter do so for social-badging purposes. (ExactTarget and Co-Tweet Sept 2010).
In the States, JCPenney's webstore allows Facebook users to browse selected inventory and make purchases without leaving the site, while also posting comments and recommendations to other friends on Facebook. While closer to home, Dublin based OWJO is helping small to medium business sell their goods and services directly on Facebook, their websites and blogs.
